Hormone care begins
with understanding.
Explore whether hormone therapy is appropriate for your symptoms, health history, and stage of life.
What your evaluation may include.
A careful starting point
Changes in sleep, temperature regulation, menstrual patterns, mood, or sexual comfort can have multiple causes. We assess the full clinical picture before attributing symptoms to hormones.
Individualized options
When appropriate, the conversation may include menopausal hormone therapy, FDA-approved bioidentical formulations, nonhormonal treatments, and lifestyle support.
Follow-up that matters
Monitoring focuses on symptom response, side effects, safety, and reassessment of ongoing need.
From conversation to a clear plan.
Understand
Discuss your priorities and review your history, medications, and relevant records.
Evaluate
Determine whether tests, an examination, or a referral will be useful.
Decide together
Review suitable options, benefits, risks, alternatives, and follow-up.
Know what you’re considering.
Approval status, potential benefits, risks, and evidence limitations belong in the treatment conversation.
ACOG: Hormone Therapy for MenopauseBefore you begin.
What does bioidentical mean?
It describes hormones with the same molecular structure as those produced by the body. Some FDA-approved estradiol and progesterone medicines are bioidentical. The term does not establish that a product is safer.
Is compounded BHRT better?
Compounded products are not FDA-approved and are not established as safer or more effective than approved options. FDA-approved formulations are preferred when they meet a patient’s needs.
Will treatment be based only on my lab values?
No. Symptoms, medical history, risk factors, and stage of life guide evaluation. Testing is used when it is clinically useful, rather than to pursue a universal “optimal” number.
